12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2023 Week 2: The Starburst Pattern

For Week 2, we're going back to one of our REALLY classic 'Classics'!

The Starburst Pattern.

This pattern is simple and truly beautiful.

If you made the Basic Star last week, you'll find this one to be a very natural progression.

And, the varieties you can do with this pattern!

In the main part of the written eBook for this pattern, the pattern is shown using just 2 different fabrics, but then afterward, I explain how to create several different variations of the pattern using 3 colors/fabrics instead, which will be really helpful to you in this challenge!

AND... you'll also get TWO videos with this pattern...  one video tutorial for the pattern itself, and then a BONUS video showing you a 'Layered Starburst' variation.

Monica went with this Layered Starburst variation:

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Starburst ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Starburst pattern, you can buy it (on sale this week only) by CLICKING HERE.

Then, show us what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #3. (Make sure you're on my email list!)

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses an 8-Lined Ball. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... this one can either be done without lines, or you can draw your own.)

p.p.s. Here are the rest of the OG Team's Week #2 ornaments:

Darlene's adorable candy-themed Starburst ornament (look how she added the Gingerbread button to the bow!):

Tanya's beautiful icy blue Starburst:

Kennedy's beautiful country gingham Starburst:

I made two, because I couldn't decide how to arrange my fabrics (and honestly, I STILL can't decide which one I like best):

Taylor's adorable baby blue ornament (to celebrate her little one on the way!)

Olivia's pretty-in-pink Starburst:

And, Tanya's festive Halloween Starburst:

Staci Ann – Is this the Starburst pattern from June, 2016 or November, 2016?

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 3, 2023 at 5:04 pm

This is the Starburst pattern from our Classic Patterns. Those are variations of the Starburst pattern, but would look great for the challenge if you wanted to use one of those.
