Quick Tip – Using Beads, Sequins, & Rhinestones on your Quilted Ornaments.

I have another quick & easy ornament embellishment idea for you: beads, sequins, and rhinestones… simply pin or glue them on!

Here are a few ideas for you.

You can create designs and patterns with our embellishments, or just put them on randomly… whatever fits your ornament best. Get creative!

In our upcoming September Kit of the Month, I used a mix of gold beads, placed randomly around the pine cone to bring out the metallic gold in the fabric… If you look closely, you can see a few of them:

I hope these ideas inspire you!

I’m interested in the center ornament shown in today’s email–red and gold, spiral–because I’d like to make some smaller ornaments for mini tree. What can you tell me about that design? Or any others you think might lend themselves to something smaller? I’m not sure I could use the folded petal design on anything smaller than 3″, although I do plan to do some of them. I’m now in a small condo–don’t have room for a large tree.

Caryl, that one is made very similarly to the Moonlight design (I have that one available for free, right here: https://theornamentgirl.com/blog/get-my-moonlight-ornament-pattern-for-free/), except that it is done as a spiral instead of straight. You would be able to use that technique for a smaller size ball for sure.. but actually, you can also go smaller than 3″ for the folded fabric designs as well. They would just require using either smaller fabric pieces, less layers, or putting layers closer together…. or any combination of the above! :)

First , Thank You for sharing your, craft gone business, with us. I have my fabric cut and have watched the video twice. I think I am ready for my first ornament tomorrow. I would like to know how you insert the panel in the middle and how big is it. Can you use a greeting card? Thank You so much.
