12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2025 Week Three: The Woven Chevron Pattern

It's Week #3! This week, we're making....

The Woven Chevron Pattern.

We originally introduced this pattern awhile back in the Ornament Girls Club. But we immediately realized this pattern was versatile enough to be used on other foam shapes, including a round ball. So, let me re-introduce.. the Woven Chevron Pattern!

We will show you how to make this on a bell AND a ball. Scroll down to see more round versions, and a couple of bells, from our team!

WERE YOU A CLUB MEMBER IN JUNE 2024? Do not purchase this. You automatically have access to this pattern in your Pattern Library!

If you do NOT have the Woven Chevron Pattern, you can get it right HERE for a very special price, this week only!

(Already own it? Access it HERE. If you aren't sure if you own this pattern or not, simply click this link and see if you have access. Make sure you're logged in!)

This pattern includes a Printable Color Planning Sheet, so you can lay out your colors and plan your fabrics!

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Woven Chevron ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Woven Chevron pattern, you can buy it at the special price for this week only!

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #4.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses a 5-Lined Ball, or a Bell. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... we have a video and template that shows you how to easily draw your own.)

p.p.s. Here are some of the OG Team's Week #3 ornaments:

Cheri's stunning pink & green Woven Chevron is shown at the top of this post. Here is her blue, tan, & black version:

I have seen the wrapped up( pumpkin version), I have the pattern but can’t find the instructions for it, do I have to purchase the pattern again

        • Sarah Cinocco on October 15, 2025 at 9:05 am

          Hi Lori,
I’m so glad you love this variation of the Wrapped Up pattern! We don’t have a bonus tutorial for the pumpkin version, but it is made with the same technique as the original pattern. Just change your colors around! Tanya used felt to make the face for hers. I hope that helps you get started!

On Darlene’s ornament what spacing did she use for 5 rows? Thanks.

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 14, 2025 at 11:02 am

Hi Regina and Karen! I’m so glad you love Darlene’s take on this pattern! She used about 1/4″ spacing between those layers.

  5. Karen Gutierrez on October 13, 2025 at 9:14 pm

My question is the same – what spacing did Darlene use for 5 rows? Thank you.

Hi, I’ve tried to buy the pattern multiple times however it’s not showing in my patterns.

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 15, 2025 at 8:55 am

      Hi Kristen,
I’m so sorry for any trouble! You can find the Woven Chevron pattern in your Classic patterns library here: https://ornamentgirls.com/pattern-workshops/woven-chevron/
Will you please let me know if you have any trouble accessing that? I also wanted to let you know that I refunded those duplicate purchases of the pattern for you! Happy Ornament-ing!
