Well, down here in Florida, we've got another hurricane bearing down on us, but nothing is gonna stop us from sending out your Week #2 Challenge! This week, we're making....
The Prairie Pinwheel!
The Prairie Pinwheel Pattern was designed by Darlene, and she didn't call it the 'Prairie' Pinwheel for no reason... Darlene draws much of her inspiration from her life on a farm in Kansas!
It doesn't look like it, but this pretty pinwheel is quick and easy to make!
In the pattern, you'll see that I used pink, green, and black/white gingham fabrics. Here's how I substituted in my Christmas fabrics:
- For the gingham (Fabric 1), I used my holly fabric.
- For the pink (Fabric 2), I used my red fabric.
- For the green (Fabric 3), I used my cream fabric.
And, Olivia did each side of her ornament differently!
On both sides, the first three layers are actually all the same! She added all three of her colors to the center pinwheel layer, and then alternated the red & green in her second layer. For the third layer, she used her holly fabric.
But, on the first side, she added a fourth layer.. again alternating the red & green fabrics, but opposite how she did in Layer Two.
Adding that fourth layer gives the ornament a totally different look, doesn't it?
You mentioned you could get it “free here”, but it takes you to your shop where it’s listed for $7.00. I assume it’s not free this week??
I apologize for my mistake; this pattern is not free but it is on sale for only $7. I corrected the post, and thank you for alerting me of my mistake!
Same question.
When will we be able to sign up for your monthly club? (Not the actual boxed ornaments, but the pattern only club?)
Thanks in Advance
Lisa ?
We are opening the digital-only club in just a few days!
Same question.
I just ordered the pattern with a mistake in the email. It is lindab4877@hotmail.com
Thanks, Linda Barnhill
I’ll make sure to let our customer service team know and correct that for you! Thank you!
Hi! I signed up to join the OG club when it was open a few days ago. The payment went thru but I never got my log in email. I might have entered the wrong email.
Hi Wendy,
Someone from our customer support team has reached out to you to help get this fixed!
Hi Linda, I wanted to let you know that I have updated that for you and resent the pattern. I hope you love it!

I haven’t received my log in information either.
I can’t login, and I have nothing in my email… I do not know what to do anymore… What can I do ? Can I create an account to have access and how ?
Thank you
Alright, I manage to gain access to my library pattern, I have nothing in my email still but I have everything in my library, thank you so much and sorry for all the trouble.. I’m relieved now, I’ll be able to enjoy the christmas challenge… Thank you again
Hi Marlene, I’m so glad to hear you were able to access your account. I hope you love working on your pattern. Just for the future, sometimes our emails end up in a spam folder or a promotions folder so you may need to check there. It can also help to add our email address (staciann@theornamentgirl.com) to your address book so your email recognizes us. Happy Ornament-ing!
Just a prayer that you all will be safe from any harm from this incoming hurricane.
Hi I’m working on your ornaments in the uk and having trouble finding the lovely little jewels you add to the ornaments could you please give me some advice about what to use
Hi Jane, we’re so glad you love the embellishments! Many of our embellishments are flat backs. You can also look for shank buttons and then cut the back off or adding some bling to a bead cap. Here is a link to the flat back embellishments in The Ornament Girl Supply Shop: https://theornamentgirl.com/market/product-tag/flatbacks/
Hi Jane, I’m in the UK and look for jewellery findings. Try the likes of eBay, Etsy and Amazon too. Also if you have any craft, haberdashery stores. You will also find bits in Hobbycraft Craft and the Range. Hope this helps. Xx
Hope you are safe in Florida. My prayers are with you

I think I’m on the waiting list for your clubs. How can I be certain?
Hi Christine, I see you are on our wait list for our Christmas Club. I can also see that you’re signed up for our emails so we will be sure to let you know about our next club opening!
Do you or will you be opening a sign up for membership in the Ornament Girls Club ( the club with the kits)?
Thanks so much and praying for everyone’s safety during this time.
Hi Vivian, we are open for new members in our digital club now, but we don’t know when we’ll be able to open the VIP club. If you are looking to get a kit in the mail each month, you might enjoy the Christmas Club. You can find out more about that club here: https://ornamentgirls.club/christmas/
What happened to the little jack o lantern that one of your ornament girls did on week 2 of challenge? I would love to have a video of that jack o lantern. I can’t remember what one of your ornament girls did that ornament.
Hi Frankie, I will be adding a video of that variation soon!
