12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2023 Week 6: The Quilted Owl Pattern

You guys, we really want to take you out of your comfort zone this week! Stick with me here, because I think you're gonna be pleasantly surprised when you make this cute little guy.

The Quilted Owl Pattern.

Darlene originally created this pattern ages ago. Since it's a little more niche-y, we don't see it visited as often as some of our other designs, but that's exactly why we're 'challenging' you with it this week.

So let me give you a few reasons to give this one a try this week:

It's simpler than it looks. It's really only a few small steps away from the Basic Star pattern and is made up primarily of Basic Triangles.

It's adorable. This is one of those ornaments you've got to hold in your own hands to see how cute it is... my photos don't do it justice.

You can really get creative with embellishments to make each one unique. (And we've got a BONUS video to help you with ideas... see the next point.)

And, we've recently re-vamped the entire pattern! There is an all-new eBook, Video Tutorial, Printable Supply List & Template, and even a BONUS video with new ideas for embellishing your little owl.

(And if you have already purchased the older version of this pattern in the past, don't worry.... you'll find all the brand new content available to you in your Pattern Library.)

Just like most of our patterns...  you'll get a step-by-step video tutorial AND a full-length eBook showing each step in detail, with photos.

Taylor made this adorable blue owl to celebrate her new baby boy:

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Quilted Owl ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... have fun creating your color combo!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Quilted Owl pattern, you can buy it (on sale this week only) by CLICKING HERE.

Then, show us what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #7. (Make sure you're on my email list!)

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses an 8-Lined Ball. (But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball. We have a video showing you how you can mark your own.)

p.p.s. Tanya's whimsical Halloween Owl is shown at the top of this post. Here are the rest of the OG Team's Week #6 ornaments:

Monica's 'Fluffy Front' Owls

(and by the way, Monica created a BONUS video showing how to make this version!):

Tanya's Wintery Blue Owl:

Darlene's Whimsical Christmas Owl:

Kennedy's Country Gingham Owl (so cute!):

My vintage-vibe owl:

And, Olivia made her Pretty-in-Pink Owl on a Foam Disc instead of a ball, which came out so cute!:

I didn’t see Monica’s fluffy owl bonus video either. The bonus video just shows additional embellishments. Please advise. Thanks.

I finally ordered your pattern today and it has not yet shown up on my patterns nor in my emails. I have a copy of my completed order from your site, but I am still showing no access to the Quilted Owl pattern. Thanks for getting back to me.

I just realized that I accidentally used an email I don’t use anymore. Is there a way to get this into my regular account?

Hi Rebecca, yes, we can definitely help with that! We will need to pull your account information up. Can you please send us an email to staciann@theornamentgirl.com?
