blue and white kanzashi fabric flower hair clip

I am finally giving into my desire to sell handmade accessories. This is something that has been on my mind since last summer, when I became hooked on making fabric flowers for myself and to embellish my Christmas ornaments…not to mention the fact that jewelry making and beading used to be a hobby of mine. I’ve been trying to talk myself out of adding accessories to my etsy shop, for the simple fact that I just don’t know if I can handle making more things, but oh well…willpower has never really suited me anyway… at least not as well as pretty flowers in my hair! And so, here is a preview of the new ”hair ornaments” that I will soon have listed in my etsy shop… The first is made with pink satin and shimmery organza petals individually folded and layered together, embellished with 3 pearls. It is attached to an alligator clip.

Here’s another…turquoise satin and sheer white organza petals, with clear glass seed beads and pearls…also attached to an alligator clip at the back.

And a larger one in black and white…

And here are a few more…the petals are individually singed, formed, and hand sewn, with beaded centers…

And here is a picture of me wearing the first of the pink flowers that I made (of course I am keeping this one for me!)…isn’t it so pretty? Please ignore any gray hair you see…I attribute those to a really stellar dating life. :D

I will be listing these, along with other hair clips, headbands, and accessories, in my etsy shop very soon…please tell me what you think! In fact, I’m working on a red and gold poinsettia clip today, because I can never stray too far from Christmas! Are there any particular colors you would like to see?

I have an idea for those of us who have very short hair and no way to decorate it with a flower, put pins on the back of some of them so we could use them to dress up a jacket, or to hold a scarf in place. Your flowers are works of art and I would love to wear one…….but my hair is just WAY too short. Please give it some thought. I would even buy a couple to give as gifts to people who still “dress” for work every day.

Check out my shop on Etsy – hairglitzbysandy.etsy.com. Here you’ll find small clippies that can be worn in short hair, even the finest. My mom [who is 88] has very short, fine hair and I’ve even made clips for her. As a matter of fact, I try out different types of clips on her before making them for the website. If they stay in on her fine hair, they’ll stay for anyone. I also have unique hairbands with miniture dolls that are [if I do say so myself] adorable. I’m adding things all the time so check often. Hope you find something you like. See you there.

I love your new flowers for my hair!! Notice that I said MY hair?! I have long hair and will certainly be ordering some of these beauties for me and some of my friends…we are Pentecostal and we ALL have gorgeous long hair! I would love to see pink, white, blues, red, and black and white colors. And, BTW…my Secret Sister at church absolutely loved her garden ornament! So did I…in fact, I almost kept it for myself! I can hardy wait to have some of your hair ornaments!

Staci, Would you sell me a white flower hair ornament just like the 4th one down, only with a small cluster of pearls and/or glass beads in the center instead of the cameo?

How much would it be, with shipping, etc??? to NJ.
    thanks, Dawn

Is there some way these could be used on a ornament?
