OG Inspire: USMC Ornament – Semper Fi
Welcome to my Ornament Girl Inspire Series!
These posts won't take you but a few seconds to read. Each one will simply contain an ornament picture meant to inspire you & give you some new ideas.
This ornament is extra special to me. Years ago, I made it in honor of my late husband, and a Marine Corps Sergeant: USMC - 'Semper Fi' Ornament
Pattern Info: This ornament was made with the Snow Globe Pattern.
Materials Info: Made on a 3" SoftFoam ball, with fabric originally from (believe it or not!), Walmart. Unfortunately, the fabric is now out of print.
I sometimes have kits to make this ornament, including the flag star & yellow ribbon charms, but we are sold out of them right now. I hope to have more soon!
I'll be showcasing other branches of the military over the next several days!
Happy Ornament-ing!
Staci Ann
Staci Ann,
These ornaments are wonderful. The me and women that serve this country should be celebrated with these beautiful ornaments. I come from a family of military folks and I will be making them for each one of their children. We have Navy, Airforce, Army and Marines. Thank you for what you do. I love making your ornaments.
Hi Jackie, that is so wonderful! Thank you for ALL your family who have and are serving our country!
Hi do you have a tutorial for the military ornaments?
The military branch ornaments are made using our free Snow Globe pattern. You can find that here: https://ornamentgirls.com/landing/get-snow-globe-video-and-look-book/
This pattern is a lot of fun because you can use whatever fabrics you like! We hope you’ll give it at try!
I am sorry if this has already been asked and I didn’t see it but where do you get the military emblems for the middle? Is it a piece from a particular fabric?
Your ornaments are amazing by the way.
thanks
Michelle
Hi Michelle, the emblems came from a fabric many years ago that has since been discontinued. You can try searching on Etsy for military fabric and you will find something that will work really great.
