Kimekomi Flag Star Ornament

Welcome to my Ornament Girl Inspire Series!

These posts won't take you but a few seconds to read. Each one will simply contain an ornament picture meant to inspire you & give you some new ideas.

Today I've got a Star-Shaped Kimekomi Ornament.

Pattern Info: Our designer Darlene made this using the Kimekomi Technique. We have a FREE PATTERN showing how to do this on a ball, but I'm working on another video showing how to do it on these stars. (I will let you know when that is available to watch, and sorry for the wait, but you can definitely use the same techniques shown in the round version!)

Materials Info: Made on a Soft Foam Star. The red/white striped fabric is from Hobby Lobby. Darlene found the blue star fabric on eBay. (The selvage says "Tribute Patt 8705 Karen Combs for Print Concepts")

If you can't find the exact same fabric, a good substitute could be a blue Marble Star by Moda. You could also try the Calico fabrics section at Joanns for a blue fabric with a star print. Tiny stars will work best!

She used red satin cord for the edging, and then a cute rhinestone flower bead in the center, held on with a pearl pin.

So cute!

Happy Ornament-ing!
