Welcome to my new Ornament Girl Inspire Series!

These posts won't take you but a few seconds to read. Each one will simply contain an ornament picture meant to inspire you & give you some new ideas.

Today's ornament: a cascading Cherry Blossoms ornament.

Pattern Info: This ornament was made with the Elements Pattern.

Materials Info: Made on a 3" Soft Foam ball. I covered the entire ball with satiny white fabric (from the costume fabric section at Joanns), and used white satin cord to outline each panel.

The flowers are made out of pink and white fabric, with pink glass seed beads sewn in the center of each one, and then glued onto the ball (I tried to make them look as though they were cascading down from the top).

And finally, I made a beaded hanger from the same pink seed beads, and one larger white pearl bead.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

What fabric did you use for the flowers and do you have a pattern?

Karen, I don’t have one yet but we’ve had a lot of requests, so I am thinking of recording a video showing how to make this ornament. For the flowers, I made my own pattern by cutting out a cherry blossom-shaped template, and then using it to cut out flowers from fabric (it was a slightly stretchy, satiny fabric from the costume fabric section of Joanns), and then curling them a little bit with a candle flame. Then I sewed pink seed beads into the centers. I hope that helps :)
