OG Inspire: Army Ornament – This We’ll Defend

Welcome to my Ornament Girl Inspire Series!

These posts won't take you but a few seconds to read. Each one will simply contain an ornament picture meant to inspire you & give you some new ideas.

In honor of our upcoming Memorial Day, today's ornament:  US Army - 'This We'll Defend' Ornament

Pattern Info: This ornament was made with the Snow Globe Pattern.

Materials Info: Made on a 3" SoftFoam ball, with fabric originally from (believe it or not!), Walmart. Unfortunately, the fabric is now out of print.

I sometimes have kits to make this ornament, including the flag star & yellow ribbon charms, but we are sold out of them right now. I hope to have more soon!

I'll be showcasing other branches of the military over the next several days!

Happy Ornament-ing!

All of your ornaments are gorgeous:>) I have not seen one, that I have not liked!! I do have a question? Are you able to get fabric on the 82nd Airborne Division?

Thanks, Diane! I can try and look, but if not, another idea might be a small embroidered logo patch (that could be used in place of a fabric fussy cut) – or maybe even a picture printed onto fabric. Would either of these sound like good options to you?

I will be watching for the kits to come back into stock! My Daughter Stacy arrives home on memorial day for a visit before she deploys. Making ornaments to record her career is what keeps me sane during the days weeks and months she is gone. Reading your story immediately drew me to connect with you. I have learned so much from you. And the wealth of pattern options is an amazing library that I look forward to purchasing in the weeks ahead.

Wow, JoAnn, you must be so excited to see her! I’m really glad to hear that making ornaments has helped you while she’s gone. A huge thank you to her for her service!
