Mini Patriotic Ornament Challenge 2022 Week 3: The Prairie Pinwheel Pattern

How did your Hexi Window ornament turn out? I loved seeing all the different variations!

This week we're doing a favorite around here...the Prairie Pinwheel.

This pattern was created by our designer, Darlene. The word 'Prairie' isn't for nothing... Darlene draws much of her inspiration from her life on a farm in Kansas! This pretty pinwheel is quick and easy to make, but looks awesome!

For my ornament above, I followed Darlene's original pattern exactly. This pattern is great at showing off contrasting colors... perfect for red, white, & blue. (And be sure to scroll down to see Tanya's Canadian flag variation with only two colors.)

This pattern comes with the full-length Prairie Pinwheel eBook and video that will walk you through the ornament step by step.

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Prairie Pinwheel Ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like I have above, or better yet, mix it up (like Darlene, Tanya, and Cheri did below!)

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Prairie Pinwheel Pattern, you can get the pattern & video combo, right HERE.

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #4.

Happy Ornament-ing!

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time based on the list I gave you, this week uses a 8-Lined Ball. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... you can also draw your own!)

Here are Darlene and Tanya's Week #3 ornaments!
