12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2025 Week Two: The Bloom Pattern

It's Week #2! This week, we're making....

The Bloom Pattern.

This dainty little pattern is perfect for 3 fabrics, and you'll only use a small amount of each one.

In the ornament above, Olivia featured her red fabric for the 'flower' in the center, and outlined it in her green fabric, creating a lot of contrast that really allows her flower to pop.

The Bloom pattern is actually a 2-in-1 eBook package. Olivia used Bloom II to make her challenge ornament above, but scroll down to see Darlene's ornament, using Bloom I!

Since the eBook package comes with both, you can use either you wish! (They are entirely different patterns from each other, and I'm curious to see which you choose.)

If you do NOT have the Bloom Pattern, you can find the package including BOTH, right HERE for a very special price, this week only!

(Already own it? Access it HERE. If you aren't sure if you own this pattern or not, simply click this link and see if you have access. Make sure you're logged in!)

Kennedy's Challenge fabrics are very similar to Olivia's, but look how different her ornament looks, just by rearranging the order of her fabrics:

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Bloom ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Bloom pattern, you can buy it at the special price for this week only!

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #3.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses an 8-Lined Ball. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... this one can either be done without lines, or you can draw your own.)

p.p.s. Here are some of the OG Team's Week #2 ornaments:

Darlene's beautiful blue and white floral ornament... She used Variation I of the Bloom Pattern.

Cheri's stunning Bloom ornaments:

Tanya's adorable Halloween Bloom:

And my Strawberry Bloom ornament:

Beautiful ornament! I do own the pattern because I was watching Staci’s videos, but I’m curious as to when this pattern was published and in what category, Christmas Club or Ornament Girl (digital)?
    Thank you!

Hi Michelle, this is one of our older patterns and was released in 2016 originally. You can find it in your “Classic Patterns” library here: https://ornamentgirls.com/ebooks/classic-patterns/ (You’ll need to scroll down toward the bottom of the list.) I hope you enjoy making yours!

Lovely ornament. Is there no video with this pattern? I looked under the older patterns, and it is listed but with no video back in 2016 either. All of the ornaments have come with video since I have been a member so wondering if I missed something or not looking the in right place.

    Thank you.

      Hi Sheilah,
Thank you so much for reaching out! I’m so glad to hear you’re excited to get started with yours! The older patterns do not have videos, but the Bloom 1 and 2 patterns on the Classic Patterns workshop pages have been updated to include videos. You can find those in the Classic Patterns Library here: https://ornamentgirls.com/ebooks/classic-patterns/
I hope you enjoy working on your ornament!

Is there a live class tonight?

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 10, 2025 at 1:59 pm

      Hi Tiffeny,
I am so sorry about any confusion! The live pin a long for the Basic Star pattern was a fun way to kick off the challenge, but we are not planning on doing a live for every single week. If we do host anymore for upcoming weeks, we’ll be sure to let you know!

  6. Connie Grubbs on October 9, 2025 at 7:24 pm

I didn’t receive an email this week to register for the class, I got it last week. I don’t know if I overlooked it or just didn’t get it! I received the one on Monday announcing the ornament. I looked through yesterdays and todays and didn’t see the one to register like last week.

    Thank you, Connie

      Hi Connie,
I am so sorry about any confusion! We are not doing a live pin a long for each week of the challenge. If we do have any more for the upcoming weeks, we’ll be sure to send out an email ahead of time so you can join along!

I want to buy paper copies is it possible?

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 14, 2025 at 10:54 am

Hi Barb, I am so very sorry, but we do not have a paper copy of this pattern at this time. If that ever changes, we’ll be sure to let you know!
