12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2024 Week 10: The Shooting Star Pattern

It's time for Week 10!

This week, we're making...

The Shooting Star Pattern.

This pattern started by accident quite awhile back, when I was playing around with the Basic Star pattern for the 12 Days of Summer Challenge (the challenge that started all this!). I knew I was on to something, so I kept working on it, and the Shooting Star pattern was born.

This one comes with some awesome bonuses.

In addition to the eBook and Video, you get:

  • A bonus video showing you an 'alternate ending' for the Shooting Star pattern.
  • A video showing you how to turn the original 2-color variation of the Shooting Star, into 3-colors.
  • A printable Reference Guide listing the fabric cuts you'll need for several variations of the Shooting Star pattern.

(If you don't own this pattern, you can grab it HERE for a very special price for this week only! Already own it? Access it HERE. If you aren't sure if you own this pattern or not, simply click this link and see if you have access. Make sure you're logged in!)

You can use your 3 fabrics throughout the pattern as Darlene has done below, or you make your star with 2 colors, and add the third fabric in the outer layer, like Tanya did at the top of this post. (And, scroll down to see even more examples of this pattern!)

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Shooting Star ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Shooting Star pattern, you can buy it at the special price for this week only!

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #11.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses an 8-Lined Ball. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... this one can either be done without lines, or you can draw your own.)

p.p.s. Here are some of the OG Team's Week #10 ornaments:

Darlene's beautiful pink & gold Christmas Shooting Star is above. Here is her festive patriotic version:
