12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2024 Week 11: The Ruffle Tree Pattern

Wow, you guys.. it's our last 'regular' week of the Challenge! (Next week is our Bundle Release!)

For Week 11, we're making...

The Ruffle Tree Pattern.

This pattern was first introduced 5 years ago! And so, it's finally time to re-release this one.

You can hang this ornament on the tree, but it's also adorable sitting about. It will even make a beautiful table placeholder!

The Ruffle Fold is quick and easy, and you can make your tree look different simply by changing how you layer your fabrics! (Scroll down to see examples of this from the OG Team!)

And, we've recently added a new BONUS video to this pattern, showing how to make a 'Mini Tree' variation of this pattern!

Don't forget... If you were an OG Club Member when this pattern was introduced back in July 2019, you already have access to this pattern in your Pattern Library. (in other words.. don't buy it!)

But if not, don't worry... now is your chance to get this beautiful, previously club-only pattern.

Tanya made her Christmas Ruffle Tree in all one color (but she used all 3 of her fabrics in her Halloween tree. Scroll down, because it's just the cutest!):

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Ruffle Tree ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Ruffle Tree pattern, you can buy it at the special price for this week only!

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with our FINAL Challenge, for Week 12.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses a Soft Foam Cone. You can use either our regular cone or short cone!

p.p.s. Here are some of the OG Team's Week #11 ornaments:

Darlene's beautiful pink & gold Christmas Ruffle Tree, and her festive patriotic version. I love how she added the glittery gold tulle in a few of the layers:

Tanya's Christmas Ruffle Tree ornament is shown above. Here is her Halloween tree, with the cutest little ghost topper!:

Kennedy's adorable vintage rose-themed Ruffle Tree:

Olivia's beautiful red & green holly Ruffle Tree, with silver 'garland':

And my Christmas-y Ruffle Tree ornament. I can't decide if I like it better with or without the garland. Which do you like better?

I like it without the garland. maybe a few more beads.

Thank you so much Gladys, what a lovely comment! You can never go wrong with more beads.

How much of each fabric when using three colors?

    • Sarah Cinocco on December 9, 2024 at 12:07 pm

You will want 4 strips of each color when you are working with 3 colors.

With the garland. When it comes to Christmas trees, more is better!

    • Sarah Cinocco on December 9, 2024 at 12:05 pm

You can never have too much garland!

I think I like it without the garland. I personally think that the fabric and colors in the fabric get lost with the garland and the fabric is so pretty. If you wanted to add then add more beads.

This pattern has so many cute customization options! I hope you’ll be making your own soon!
