The Ornament Girl’s Christmas Club FAQ

We've been getting a TON of questions about the Christmas Club, so I'm here to give you some answers.

Also, based on some of the feedback I received after announcing this the other day, I've decided to make one important change. Please see below.

Why only 1000 spots?

So, to be honest, I initially thought 1000 was more than enough. From the response we've gotten so far, I can see that this Christmas Club might be a little more popular than I was expecting.

But here's the logistical reason.....

In order to get enough fabric for a whole lotta kits, I had to order about a year in advance. This is especially true with holiday fabrics, which are typically only introduced once a year by the fabric manufacturers I love most.

When the idea for the Christmas Club came about, I realized I would need to order fabric and other supplies, for an entire year's worth of kits up front.

I chose to do this for 1000 kits this first year, and slowly add on each year after. My plan is to hopefully add another 500 spots in November, 2021.

(Our first ornament will be the glittery Flurry ornament you see above.)

Will this really be Christmas all year?

Yes, indeed!

What patterns will be used?

One of the things that has been bugging me for awhile, is that each month, we introduce an amazing brand new pattern (and that is awesome)... but then it goes into the vault, and we rarely get a chance to re-visit it.

What a waste!

With our brand new Christmas Club Kits, we'll be going back through our treasure trove of patterns... but with beautiful Christmas fabrics and embellishments every single month.

Will the new Christmas Club have any NEW patterns?

No, not brand new. We will use existing patterns, and occasionally variations.

Basically, our current OG Club is more focused on new patterns each month... and this new Christmas Club will be more about kits. I can't begin to count the number of times I send an ornament picture in Inspire emails (using one of our existing patterns), and we get replies asking if we can please make a kit for it.

We have so many amazing patterns and it's going to be so fun to use them in new ways, with beautiful Christmas materials.

Will there be a digital-only option?

No, not at this time. We will be basing these kits off of our existing collection of beautiful patterns, and so it doesn't make sense to offer a digital only option for this club.

If you're interested in getting a new pattern each month, I'd recommend sticking with our current Digital Ornament Girls Club.

Will there be an international shipping option?

What will I receive?

You will get:

  • A complete kit, with fabric, foam, pins, and embellishments, to make each month's Christmas ornament.
  • A full-length video tutorial, showing you how to make your ornament.
  • Access to our private Ornament Girls Facebook Group.

Which Club is better for me?

Our current Ornament Girls Club is heavily focused on learning a new pattern every single month.

The new Christmas Club will be a chance to re-visit many of those patterns, to make a Christmas-themed ornament every month.

The Christmas Club will not be for everyone, but if you want more Christmas.... and if you would love the chance to practice some of our amazing patterns... and if you love getting a kit with ALL the things... pre-cut and ready to go.. than you will LOVE the Christmas Club.

Do I have to be a member of the Ornament Girls Club in order to join the Christmas Club?

The Christmas Club will be open to everyone. However, I will be offering it to current Ornament Girls first.

Can I trade my current OG Club Membership for a spot in the Christmas Club?

I can't guarantee you a spot in the Christmas Club... however, if you join, we will gladly cancel your current membership at your request.

Can I join both clubs?

Of course!

Is there a discount if I join both clubs?

Please see the section below... I will be offering the Christmas Club at a slightly reduced price.

An important change...

These kits will NOT include an eBook. I realized this week that this caused a lot of confusion, and many of you expressed concern about paying for a pattern you may already own.

Instead of including an eBook, I'm going to reduce the monthly cost of these kits instead.

BUT, not to worry. These kits WILL come with a full-length video, which will show you exactly how to put your kit together, even if you don't already own the eBook.

What is the cost?

I am still working out the cost (as we're still figuring out a few last details and things), but I will have that information for you in the coming weeks!

I'm ready to join! Where do I sign up?

I know, I'm so excited too! It's been killing me to wait so long to tell you about this!

We aren't open yet, but signup day will be coming this fall (most likely end of October-ish), and I'lI have about 1000 spots available. Our first kit will be shipped November 2020.

We already have our first year of kits planned, based on these 1000 spots, and so we won't open again until November 2021 (except to maybe occasionally fill in any cancelled spots).

This will be an ongoing subscription club, but you will always be able to cancel any time (just like our Ornament Girls Club.

Can I sign up early?

I am so sorry, but we can't accept early sign ups.

Please stay tuned. I'll have more info coming as we get closer to Opening Day this fall!

If you have a question I haven't answered here, please leave a comment below, and I will do my best to help.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

I am currently not a member, but was. I sure would love to be part of your Christmas club. I use all my Christmas ornaments for heirloom gifts and people over them.

Beryl I hope we’ll see you in the Christmas Club this fall :)

I am more excited about the Christmas Club than getting to be an OG just this past March. Well, it feels that way because Christmas adds more Joy to my life. Who wouldn’t want Christmas all year long? My goal is to make every ornament for my new 7 foot tree (with white lights) replacing everything I lost up North when Sandy hit!!!
Merry Christmas and Thanks to you and all your elves!!!

Slynn, I’m so sorry to hear you lost your Christmas stuff when Sandy hit! That must have been devastating. Some things can’t ever be replaced, I know. But good luck with making all the ornaments for your new tree. Hopefully we can help with that!

(And I agree about Christmas all year long. That’s how I feel too)

Hi Staci Ann. One quick question, will us charter members have an early sign up? I have been a member since you first began OG. Just wondering. Thank you.

      August 30, 2020

Hi Joyce.. yep! I’m going to give current members first dibs on the Christmas Club. :)

  • Virginia
    August 30, 2020

Since we already have ebooks for these patterns will you be telling us which month and pattern is being used? I work better from my printed ebooks than from the videos. This is exciting!

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 30, 2020

Virginia absolutely. We’ll let you know which pattern it is, so that if you already own the eBook version of it, you can certainly go back and use it.

And, for those who don’t end up joining the Christmas Club, but would like to make their own versions, we’ll definitely let you all know which pattern each kit is using.

Hi I’m currently an OG. if I switch to the Christmas group and cancel my OG membership will I still have access to everything from my previous membership? Thanks

    • Staci Ann Lowry

Candy, yes. You will ALWAYS have access to any of the patterns you received as a member. :)

Just curious, how many members are there in the regular club that actually get a kit each month? You and your staff must be super organized to accomplish what you do!

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Thanks Nancy! We’ve had to get very organized over the last several years in order to make it all work. We have close to 2000 people currently receiving a kit each month.

    August 30, 2020

I have only been a member for a bit over a year, so there may be ebooks that I do t have. Will there be an option to get any pattern I don’t have?

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Sonia, I am considering a special option for that situation, though I want to be clear that you won’t NEEd to buy the eBook for any pattern you don’t already have. We’ll be providing a step by step video tutorial for every Christmas Club kit.

I’m scared that I’m not going to be able to get in. I’m a die-hard Christmas ornament type of person. While I’m loving the current club; there are some that aren’t quite Christmasy. I hope I’ll be able to get in the group!

Cant wait for Christmas club. Can you make sure you put out the join information at a time of day that is best for everyone to have a chance to try? Or do something like you did with the little angels so we have a chance

    • Staci Ann Lowry

June, I will probably open the Ornament Girls Club sometime this Fall!

I am hoping you will allow the current members to get into the Christmas Club before letting others join. I am wanting only Christmas because that is my passion and I only have to sell for a couple of months which gives me time to get enough to sell. Count me in as a member. Talk to you in Nov.

Carol, I’m doing an opening just for current OGs first. :)

    August 30, 2020

Will you be offering first dibs to those of us who have been with you since the beginning or almost the beginning? I have been a member since your 3rd kit…..
just wondering if you might do that for us.

    Thanks …..

    • Staci Ann Lowry

Leslie, yes. I’m offering first dibs to Ornament Girls Members first. Thank you for being with me so long!

Will the existing facebook group also be used for the Christmas club? Or will we get a new FB froup dedicated only to the Christmas club?… my vote, ??? is for a Christmas only group. Thats a very nice incentive to those that want to pay for a send group.

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Shannon, thanks for the feedback. As of right now, I’m planning on having just one group for all OGs, no matter which club they are in, but I’m considering all possible options for this. :)

I’m very excited about this new opportunity. However, you normally open your purchase posts in the morning. As I work during the day, I cannot always get on at the appropriate time. I’m sure that I’m not the only one in this situation. Because of that, and because you’ve already received such a positive response; have you considered taking applications for a week, and putting them into a lottery? Limit one application per person, of course.

Thanks for coming up with this idea. My fingers are crossed that I’m able to become a member regardless of the method you decide to employ.

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Becky, thanks so much for the feedback. I am not sure what to expect as far as how many people will join, but I am considering opening spots in several different groupings, over several time periods, in order to spread it out a little bit and make it easier for people in different time zones to get a chance. Thanks for the feedback!

I am so excited about the Christmas club. Each month I look forward to the new pattern. In 2019 we had 4 patterns with Christmas material & this year so far only 1. Does that mean, no longer will Christmas fabric ornaments be offered in the original club? Is it being phased out? Would the new digital video be available for purchase or is it already included if we already own the pattern & this would be an updated version?
I am over the moon about the new Christmas addition & hopefully get to take part.
Thank you Staci & your team for all you do.

  • Sharon Fisher
    August 30, 2020

Will the Christmas club ornament be post on the OG website each month for those not in the Christmas club to see? Will the patterns used be available for purchase if we don’t already have the pattern?

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Sharon, yes, I’ll be showing each and every one. And, I’ll consider doing something special regarding the pattern during each month. Thanks for your comment!

It seems like unfortunately it’s going to come down to internet speed. I imagine so many of us are interested that we are going to wake the morning of in anticipation.

I am a visual storyteller on Facebook and LOVE the comradery. I unfortunately have terrible signal out where I live.

I would gladly use my own fabric if there was an electronic membership to join in discussion and see color combination. For me this is my get away from illness and responsibilities of a special needs son. I will try to join but doubt I’ll get through.

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      August 31, 2020

Jen, with 1000 spots, I’m hoping it will be a little easier to get a place than it’s been in the past with some of our other kits where we only had 100-200 kits.

However, yes, we will absolutely show each one as we do them, and I’ll gladly give any fabric info, etc, to help anyone who does not get the kit have an easier time making something similar on their own.

I am not going to offer a digital-only option due to the fact that the patterns have already been done in the past, but I am considering possibly making each pattern available as a special during the month we are doing each one, for those that are interested. I’ll have more info on that if we decide to go that route.

I appreciate your feedback, thank you!

As I live in Australia, the time difference can be quite an issue. As I work full time, I feel this may make it harder to get one of the 1000 places. I’ll see what the costs are, and keep my fingers crossed. I don’t want to give up my OG subscription.

I read your email of August 30th and still a little stumped.

With there being two clubs, according to some of your past remarks, we will be able to see both ornaments on-line for both clubs?

If we already have the pattern for that month, will we, as OC regular members, be able to purchase some of the Christmas Club embellishments, etc, if we don’t have them from the store ?

Last question, is the Glittery Flurry ornament for the new Christmas Club or the 12 weeks of Christmas? Wasn’t sure.

    • Staci Ann Lowry
      September 2, 2020

Hi Mary.. Hopefully I can help.

      1. Yes, I am going to show photos of all ornaments (both clubs) each month. (I think that is what you are asking?)

      2. I may have SOME of the Christmas Club embellishments and materials, but I know I won’t be able to provide all of them. For example, some of the fabrics we’ll be using throughout next year are no longer available. Wherever possible, I’ll provide sources or have things in my store, but I can’t promise the availability of everything.

      3. The Glittery Flurry is the very first ornament kit in the Christmas Club. (we MAY use the Flurry pattern in the Challenge as well, but I don’t have that full pattern list completely nailed down yet. I’ll be sending Challenge info out later this month).

I hope that helped answer your questions! Just let me know if you need clarification on anything else.

Yes, it answered my questions completely and I’m not really worried about the fabric just the extras. Thanks a bunch!!

Hi Lynn, if you decide to cancel your membership with us you will have forever access to the patterns you’ve already purchased. Thanks! Have a great day, Janelle
