how to make no mess glitter Halloween ornaments

Remember the blog post I wrote last year about how to make glitter ornaments? (They are awesome because the glitter is INSIDE the glass, so no mess!) Well, I made some in Halloween colors today…it only took me about 20 minutes to make a bunch. I’m going to put them in a clear glass vase on my table when it gets a little closer to Halloween time. :)

I could make zillions of these things…they’re so easy!

What’s the best way to get the glitter into the ornament? Do you have a funnel or do you just dump it in or ?????

I do use a funnel now, but before I had one, I would pour a little glitter onto a piece of paper that I had folded in half and then re-opened first, and then use the crease of the paper to get the glitter into the ornament. But, the funnel is definitely easiest! :D

I use a small funnel from the three at the dollar tree, when u buy them u get 3 of different sizes the small is perfect for this…. (or I get a very small bottle and just dump it in from that)

Judging by the Elvis pic in the glitter ornaments how-to, I’m guessing you’re a fan–have you seen the new USPS postage stamps of a young Elvis? Gorgeous!

I have not seen it, but now I will make sure to go look! I do LOVE Elvis. :D Thank you!

Hi, I’m a big fan of your site and of ornaments in general.

I hope you don’t mind, but I have a couple questions:

I was wondering if using plastic ornaments would also work for this kind of project, if clear ornaments of any sort are sold year-round and if you could also use smaller sized ornaments (small, medium, etc.)?

Staci, I love and appreciate all your “How to” instructions. I do have a question, do you have any suggestions on how to recycle ornaments that have spots on them from being stored in a shed? I think it is mold. These are ornaments I bought before I knew about you and I hate to throw them away.
