OG Inspire: Pastel Rainbow Rosebud Ornament

Welcome to my new Ornament Girl Inspire Series!

These posts won't take you but a few seconds to read. Each one will simply contain an ornament picture meant to inspire you & give you some new ideas.

Today's ornament: a pastel rainbow Rosebud ornament.

Pattern Info: This ornament was made with the Rosebud Pattern.

Materials Info: Made on a 3" Soft Foam Ball, but here's the really cool part: Monica used rainbow-colored Satin Blanket Binding (found in sewing departments) to make this entire ornament.

Since these ornaments use such small pieces of fabric, you can really get creative in the materials you use to make them!

Happy Ornament-ing!

Does the pattern have this binding variation details? I’m sure you know that it comes single or double fol, different widths, etc. and this is one of my favorite Rosebud examples. I don’t think it’s on the pattern page photo examples, which surprises me, because it’s an eye catcher.

Hi Linda, I’m so glad you love this variation of the Rosebud pattern! It is so beautiful! The pattern does not include any specifics for working with binding, but it does list the fabric sizes you need, and you can match your binding to that. If you have never made this pattern before, I would suggest going through the pattern step by step for the first time with fabric and cotton, rather than binding. The satin can be slippery and may make this one a little more difficult if you have never done it before. Also going through the pattern once through will help you when you’re ready to give the binding method a try.
      Happy Ornament-ing!
