{"id":7633,"date":"2018-04-20T08:35:51","date_gmt":"2018-04-20T12:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/?p=7633"},"modified":"2020-06-27T14:21:47","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T18:21:47","slug":"ribbon-edges-in-quilted-ornaments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/quilted-ornament-tips\/ribbon-edges-in-quilted-ornaments\/","title":{"rendered":"Using the Edges of Your Ribbon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\">I am asked a lot if I cut the edges from my wired ribbons before using them to make my ornaments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\">Every so often I do<i class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\"> (if the wire inside is very hard to work with),<\/i> but most of the time, I try to incorporate the edge into the <b class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\">design of the ornament.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\"><span class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\">That&#8217;s what I did in the ornament above\u00a0<i class=\"bard-text-block style-scope\">(I made this using our February 2018 pattern). <\/i>Instead of cutting off or trying to hide the gold edges, I folded them strategically to outline my triangles, and highlight the Kaleidoscope pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>(This ornament uses mostly the Prism Fold, which means only one edge will show after folding.
