I now offer some supplies, such as foam shapes and charms, right in my own shop. You can find those by clicking right <a href=\"http:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product-category\/ornament-supplies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Foam balls.<\/strong> I have <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/3-inch-smooth-foam-balls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3&#8243; Soft Foam balls<\/a> in my shop.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pins.<\/strong> I typically buy dressmaker size pins in bulk, <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/bulk-dressmaker-pins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HERE<\/a> &#8211; that's a great deal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Styrofoam trees<\/strong>. I use <a title=\"Styrofoam trees for quilted christmas trees\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/3-by-6-styrofoam-tree\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this size<\/a> in my <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product\/quilted-fabric-tree-pattern-e-book-no-sew\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quilted Christmas Tree pattern,<\/a> and in our <a href=\"https:\/\/ornamentgirls.club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January 2017 Kit<\/a>, I used <a href=\"http:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product\/4-inch-smooth-foam-cones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">THESE<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Styrofoam eggs<\/strong>. I use <a title=\"styrofoam eggs for quilted Easter eggs\" href=\"http:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product\/4-inch-smooth-foam-eggs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this size<\/a> in my <a title=\"Quilted Easter Egg pattern\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product\/quilted-easter-egg-pattern-e-book-no-sew\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quilted Easter egg pattern<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear glass ornaments.<\/strong> I prefer to buy these use these at Michaels and JoAnns during the holiday season, but you can find them on <a title=\"clear glass ornaments for crafts\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/fillable-clear-glass-ornaments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Amazon <\/a> during the rest of the year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clear plastic ornaments.<\/strong> I buy these at Michaels and JoAnns during the holiday season, and right after Christmas, when they are nice and cheap. Online, you can get <a title=\"clear plastic acrylic ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/clear-plastic-ornaments-without-cap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">these<\/a>, which have no caps, or <a title=\"clear plastic acrylic ornaments with caps\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/clear-plastic-ornaments-with-cap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">these<\/a>, which are a little more expensive, but have caps. (<a title=\"Bulk clear plastic ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/clear-plastic-ornaments-bulk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here they are in bulk<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hot Knife.<\/strong> <a title=\"Dremmel hot knife for no sew fabric ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/hot-knife\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This Dremmel hot knife<\/a> makes cutting smooth styrofoam balls a piece of\u00a0 cake! (Used for the non-quilted fabric ornaments, like the<a title=\"free no sew fabric ornament pattern\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/get-my-moonlight-ornament-pattern-for-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> free Moonlight pattern<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/market\/product\/elements-fabric-ornament-tutorial-e-book-no-sew\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elements<\/a> pattern.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eyelets.<\/strong> I bought <a title=\"eyelets for adding charms and bells to quilted Christmas trees\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/darice-eyelet-starter-set\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this kit<\/a>, to add grommets to the quilted Christmas trees to add charms, jingle bells, and other awesome little trinkets.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fabric Punch.<\/strong> I use <a title=\"roto punch fabric punch tool\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/roto-punch-leather-tool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this hole-punching tool <\/a>to make the holes in the &#8220;branches&#8221; of the fabric trees, to add eyelets and charms.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charms & trinkets.<\/strong> I buy most of my charms and embellishments from JoAnns and Michaels, but online, I get them from <a title=\"charms and embellishments for quilted ornaments\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twopurplepandas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Two Purple Pandas<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Miniature Seashells<\/strong>. (I use these to make <a title=\"seashell christmas ornament to make\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/being-crafty\/seashell-and-sand-ornament\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">THIS seashell ornament<\/a>.) I get them from <a title=\"Tiny miniature seashells\" href=\"http:\/\/www.trs240.com\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Timber Ridge Studio<\/a> &#8211; she handpicks them from the Gulf Coast beaches &#8211; best little seashells ever!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Glue\/Sealer.<\/strong> I use <a title=\"Mod podge for ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/mod-podge-glossy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mod Podge<\/a> for LOTS of the<a title=\"free christmas ornament crafts and tutorials\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/ornament-patterns-tutorials-and-diys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> free ornament projects<\/a> you can find on this site. (I love Mod Podge!)<\/li>\n<li><strong>More glue.<\/strong> <a title=\"Beacon's Advanced Craft Glue for ornament projects\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/3-in-1-beacon-craft-glue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beacon's 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue<\/a> is my favorite glue of all time. It's thick and very tacky, and dries clear. It's not the cheapest glue around, but a little bit goes a long way.<\/li>\n<li>I use this <a title=\"Pledge floor wax for glitter ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/pledge-acrylic-floor-wax\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pledge Floor Wax<\/a> for making the famous <a title=\"how to make glitter ornaments\" href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/being-crafty\/how-to-make-glitter-christmas-ornaments-diy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">glitter ornament project<\/a> on this site. :)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>How I Do the Custom Embroidery\u00a0on my <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/quilted-ornament-tips\/personalized-embroidery\/\">Snow Globe quilted ornaments.<\/a><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>I use a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/brother-sewing-machine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brother SE-400 sewing\/embroidery machine<\/a>, which I LOVE. (It's a perfect beginner machine if you are a non-sewer like me.)<\/li>\n<li>I use <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/stabilizer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">THESE stabilizer sheets<\/a>, which fit perfectly in the hoop of my machine.<\/li>\n<li>I use <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/embrilliance\" target=\"_blank&quot;\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embrilliance ESSENTIALS software<\/a> to create the designs for my custom embroidery. I researched this for days before I purchased, and I have not regretted it one bit. I will be posting some &#8220;how-to&#8221; articles here on this site very soon, so please check back for those!<\/li>\n<li>I bought this <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/embroidery-thread-mega-kit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HUGE kit of embroidery thread<\/a>, so that I could have a wonderful collection of colors at my fingertips&#8230;. Spools half this size are usually between $3-5 each at craft stores, and this kit contains 260 spools with twice the thread on each spool&#8230;. so this is a MASSIVE deal.<\/li>\n<li>(Oh, and I bought 2 of <a href=\"https:\/\/theornamentgirl.com\/blog\/mega-thread-rack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">THESE thread racks<\/a> to hold it all. :) )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Materials &#038; Supplies I get asked a LOT which materials and supplies I use in my quilted ornament patterns and free ornament tutorials, and where to get them, so here&#8217;s a great big list.
