12 Weeks of Christmas Ornaments Challenge 2025 Week Four: The Snowflake Pattern

It's Week #4! This week, we're making....

The Snowflake Pattern.

This pattern goes all the way back to 2017, and it's been a favorite ever since.

It's been around so long that we weren't even using lined foam in our patterns yet when it was released.

And so, just for this challenge, I've recorded a brand new Video Tutorial for this pattern, showing how to make it using an 8-lined ball. It was already a pretty easy pattern.. but now it's even easier!

The original video, showing this pattern made with a plain foam ball, is still included!

If you do NOT have the Snowflake Pattern, you can get it right HERE for a very special price, this week only!

(Already own it? Access it HERE. If you aren't sure if you own this pattern or not, simply click this link and see if you have access. Make sure you're logged in!)

This is one of those patterns with lots of fabric arrangement options. Be sure to keep scrolling down, to check out all the examples from the OG Team.

Here's Tanya's Halloween version:

Your turn!

Your challenge is.... to make your own Snowflake ornament using your 3 chosen fabrics.... you can arrange your fabrics like we have, or better yet, mix it up!

Remember, if you don't know how to make the Snowflake pattern, you can buy it at the special price for this week only!

Then, show me what you've got by posting it on Instagram using the hashtag #OrnamentGirlsChallenge so we can all see it!

(And, if you're an Ornament Girls Club Member, please post it in our private FB group!)

I'll see ya in a week, with Challenge Pattern #5.

Happy Ornament-ing!

Staci Ann

p.s. If you bought your foam ahead of time-based on the Supply List I gave you, this week uses an 8-Lined Ball. But, don't worry if you don't have a pre-lined ball... we have a video and template that shows you how to easily draw your own.)

p.p.s. Here are some of the OG Team's Week #4 ornaments:

Darlene's beautiful blue and white floral Snowflake ornament:

Cheri's stunning pink & green Snowflake, and her blue, tan, & black version:

Olivia's adorable Santa-edition Snowflake ornament:

Hello. I’m just wondering when you are going to start shipping to Canada again. I would love to order some thing. Hope to hear from you soon. Have a wonderful day. I love making these ornaments.

      Hi Wanneta,
I am so sorry we aren’t currently able to ship to Canada, I know that must be very frustrating! Unfortunately, we do not know when we will be able to resume shipping to Canada due to the postal strike. We do check for updates from Canada Post regularly and we hope we can start shipping again soon!

Thank you for posting your team’s ornaments using the pattern assigned for the week. It gives me loads of inspiration and I just love to see how different fabrics are used and how different the patterns can look rearranging the colors.

I couldn’t agree more. The arrangements are different, the numbers of fabrics used vary from one maker to another, so much good inspiration! Thank you!

Where can I find the new video showing making this pattern on a 8 lined ball? I haven’t been able to find it only te original video. Thank you.

There are 2 snowflake ornaments in 2017. Are they both the same pattern? If not which one is this week’s one ?

    • Sarah Cinocco on October 27, 2025 at 1:01 pm

Hi Joanne! The Snowflake patterns from 2017 were released with the kits that came out those months, so the differences are going to be the fabrics shown in the eBooks. If you own either of those, you can also access the Snowflake Pattern in the Classic Patterns Library, which has an updated video. I hope that helps!
