quilted ornament with ribbon tutorial

making a quilted ornament with ribbon

There are some gorgeous holiday ribbons that can be found at craft stores, department stores, and even dollar stores around Christmas time, and using them to create a quilted ornament adds an entirely new dimension to the craft. Since there are so many different textures and patterns available, the possibilities are virtually endless.

Using ribbon in an ornament is not too different from using fabric…there are just a few little tweaks you will need to make.

I have written a bonus tutorial which will show you the tricks to using wired ribbon instead of fabric to make a quilted Christmas ornament. I’m including this tutorial FREE with purchase of my “How to make a quilted ornament” tutorial.

To those who have previously purchased the quilted ornament tutorial, I have already emailed the bonus PDF to you. :)

Happy ornament making!

    Hi Ornament Girl :-)
I have just sent you a payment for your “How to make a quilted ornament tutorial” on Pay Pal (Transaction ID: 67E78763E0466154H), and I am not sure what happens at this point. I am very excited about receiving your tutorial and can hardly wait to get started making my first ornament. Please advise me if there is anything more that I need to do in order to receive the download.

Hi I paid for the tutorials via paypal but have yet to receive them. How long should it take??

    • ornamentgirl on December 1, 2011 at 9:52 pm

Florence…I emailed them to the address on file with paypal right after I received your order…did you receive it yet? Or, it could have went to your spam folder… Let me know if you have not received it yet, and I will try re-sending. Thanks!

I have one more question. Does it matter if we use the smooth styrophone balls or the other ones. I know for some of your other tutorials you say we need to use the smooth. I have 2 of your kits and they came with the non-smooth ones so I wanted to see if one works better than the other or anything like that.
    Thanks!

Shanna, for these ornaments, I prefer to use the rougher ones. The smooth ones are tougher to push pins through, and after awhile, it will KILL your fingers. The rough ones are much easier to work with, and since you will be creating layers of fabric or ribbon, you won’t be able to feel the rough styrofoam through the fabric when you are done. :)
